The Caedis Tribe
Given the nickname 'Beasts', by outsiders, the Caedis are a tribe made up solely of infected creatures. They are a group who take pride in their infected status. One day the Pandemonium Plague will be the regularity; this tribe will make sure of it. The Caedis tribe are known not only for their strength, but the brutality in which they live their lives. This tribe lives as a community made up of a strict hierarchy. There are rules to be followed and respect is key to thriving within the Caedis.
To those unfamiliar with their customs the tribe comes off manic. For the Caedis it is a way of life, forged by traditions and rituals ingrained deeply within their heritage. The Caedis tribe is run by a delicate balance of order and well placed chaos. They are highly strategic fighters who put respect and loyalty above all else. Life within the tribe might be dangerous, but also brings the salvation that many infected seek.

Scent |
Those within the tribe tend to carry the scent of ash or smoke on their fur due to the location of their territory. Surprisingly despite being a tribe of those infected with the plague, the scent of the plague is typically masked by burnt sandalwood and various other herbal incense from their many rituals.

Due to the tribe being made up of those infected with the pandemonium plague, their appearance and general physique tends to vary and fluctuate. Most Caedis Tribe members are larger in stature and built muscular. Some can be very lean and lanky. There is very little middle ground between the two main builds. Their fur is quite short to stay cool in the humid temperatures of their camp.

Code of the Caedis
One of the most important aspects to the tribe are laws. The rules are there to be followed and those who disregard them are punished. In the eyes of the Caedis the Code helps the tribe to thrive. Without the Code there would be nothing but chaos. While they don't inherently find chaos a bad thing, too much of it can be detrimental to the tribes well-being. The Code of the Caedis has been built upon through countless generations, though for a period of time was lost in it's entirety. It is only in the latest generation that it has resurfaced and fully been put into place.
I. To injure a tribe-born whelp is seen as an attack on the entire tribe. The young hold the future for the tribe and bringing intentional harm to them is unforgiveable.
II. Above all else the Sire and or Dame's word is law. Followed directly by the Heir and rest of the council. All on the Council are to be respected and addressed with appropriate, honorific titles. Those that hold ranks above you in superiority should also be respected. III. All in the tribe must contribute to the livelihood of the tribe. Inattentiveness and laziness is not tolerated. All must do their part in some form. IV. The Celestials must be respected. They offer guidance and wisdom. As a tribe we should not loose site of them as has been done in the past. V. Traditions of the tribe are sacred and should be upheld at all times. They are our history to loose sight of them is to loose ourselves. VI. Those taken as prisoners are filthy. To fraternize or take one in as a mate is seen as impure. If they aren't worthy of being a member of the tribe and proving their worth they deserve to be where they are. VII. At any time a rank may be challenged for. If one is unfit for their role and unable to keep it they were not worthy. Ranks with connections to the Celestials, however may not be challenged. They were chosen by the Celestials and to do so would be disrespectful. VIII. Love has no boundaries and should not be bound by gender or monogamy. If destined to be mates anyone is capable of doing the Binding Hearts ceremony and joining as one. IX. Outsiders are not shunned, but must conform and understand the ways and teachings of the Caedis tribe. If they are unwilling to see the ways they should be shunned or disposed of. If they are a threat do what must be done to ensure the safety of the tribe. X. Though we take life willingly, it is always for a purpose. No matter the purpose the life of a being may be taken for, their sacrifice should be respected. Give thanks to their gift; whether it was an offering to the Celestials, nourishment, the safety of the tribe or amusement. Never take it for granted or waste anything. XI. Failure to follow any of the Code of Caedis is punishable as it is seen as direct sign of disrespect. Punishments should be carried out at the digression of the Council. |
