Fidelis Tribe Camp Layout
The tribe live in a area known simply as the Labyrinth. It's a long-abandoned mine that has been reclaimed by nature. Its vast network of tunnels has been carved away by the dutiful work of many that have come and gone in the tribe's history. There's a single stream trickling through the tunnels; in the middle of the camp, it's gathered into a shallow pool. The mineral-rich rocks seep into the water, causing an abundance of bioluminescent algae. When movement occurs the algae will light into a vivid glow of blue. There is also an abundance of exposed, pale quartz along the rocks. The camp is made up of a main, circular cavern with branches off into other chambers and rooms. There is a chamber for the Rex/Regent, clerics/Shaman, and a nursery. There is a wide tunnel with various alcoves and smaller chambers for the other members of the tribe. Down the tunnels, a bit to the left of the main camp entrance is a large cavern with an opening in the ceiling.

Trainee DenTucked away on the left wall, further down from the member den, is the trainee den. Here the young of the tribe rest in nests along the rocks and some on rocky perches.
Senior DenOn the right wall, in front of the Rex/Regent den is where the seniors of the tribe rest. There are nests as well as soft pelts gathered for the elders of the tribe.
Member DenBefore the trainee den on the left wall is a nook where the members of the tribe rest. There are many rock formations and perches along the walls where they've made their nests.
NurseryIn an alcove near the healing chambers is the nursery. It's here where the tribe's progeny lay their heads and spend most of their time with their parents and guardians. Nursing mothers also sleep here with their young.
Rex & Regent DenBetween the senior and healing chambers along the right wall is a nook where the Rex and/or Regent reside. It's a small area nested on some rock formations.
Healing ChamberThe healing chamber is on the right side of the camp and at the start of a branching tunnel. Here it is where the clerics and Shaman sleep, but also the sick and injured in the tribe are tended to.
Placid Grove EntranceDeep within the tunnel system in the Northern part is a small entrance to the Placid Grove.
The GardenTo the right of the camp, right near the entrance is where the garden is. There's a crack in the ceiling that offers sunlight into the tunnel system. The tribe grow their own herbs and plants here, tending to them frequently.
Celestial Chamber EntranceNext to the healing chamber and across from the nursery is an entrance into a narrow passage. It's here where one will find the Celestial Chamber.

The Celestial Chamber
The most sacred area to the Fidelis Tribe is the Celestial Chamber. It is where they are able to connect with their fallen brethren and ancestors for guidance, It's a small cavern at the end of a narrow passage that feeds in from the main camp. It is here where the Rex and/or Regent and Shaman are able to do the various rituals for contacting the Celestials.
It is seen as a bad omen for those without a spiritual connection to the Celestials to enter. No one is quite sure what happens, but stories have been told of horrific nightmares or bad luck befallen the unfortunate few who have dared to explore. The chamber is full of glowing, pale green orbs. They seem to act like fireflies, but anyone deeply connected spiritually will tell you otherwise. They say if you close your eyes and concentrate you can hear the whispering of familiar voices of lost loved ones. |
Placid Grove
Hidden within the deepest recess of the tunnel system is an opening into the Placid Grove. It's a valley-like area, surrounded by cliffs until it opens up into a lake, almost like a bay. In the center is a grove of trees, all sacred and grown from burial rights for fallen leaders and higher rankings. The surrounding plain is overgrown with seasonal flowers, also grown from burials of the fallen. This place is more or less a graveyard to the tribe, creating new life from what has been lost.
Anyone is free to visit the Placid Grove without restriction. Any who visit must be respectful and avoid intentionally killing any plant life. Any prey found here, though rare, is also untouchable. It's believed they act as messengers of stories from the Celestials and killing one would be a disrespect to the Celestials themselves. |
