Leaving things to chance... what will fate have in store?
Some things within the roleplay are always determined by chance. Other things are more optional for the players to decide if they want to trust fate. What we call that in Pandemonium Plague is our 'Fate System'. It's where certain things and outcomes are determined by the rolling of a dice. We have a bot and commands on our Discord for this very purpose. Below you'll find in-depth information on the varying things that are left up to chance.
All dice rolls are done and determined in our Discord in the channel named 'Rolls-and-outcomes'.

Plague Infection
These chance outcomes are mandatory and must be rolled for.
If your character is exposed to the plague you must roll to determine if they will become infected or not. For example the Pandemonium Plague is transmitted by bodily fluids such as blood, saliva or an infected's venom. All interactions will have consequences, this is one which will be determined by chance. After coming in contact with the plague you must roll and seal your character's fate.
You will roll a 5 sided dice in the 'Rolls-and-outcomes; channel.
Roll a 1 or 2 - Your character will contract the plague from their encounter.
Roll a 3, 4 or 5 - Your character is able to cleanse themselves before getting infected.

Offspring
These chance outcomes are mandatory and must be rolled for.
Rearing young in the Plague Lands is not an easy thing. The fate of your offspring is also something left up to fate. Not only does this include the number in a single birth, but also the mortality rate and chances of birth defects. This section has more information than most and variations so be sure to read carefully.
You will need to roll for multiple fields that apply to your litter/brood/clutch. Such as the size of a litter and also mortality.

Here's an example list of some birth defects and mutations to help if you need any ideas for story sake. Note that some of these are only fatal to animals as they lack the skill to be able to preform surgery and correct the issues.

I'd like us to avoid birth complications that effect neural development and learning disabilities. I feel it'd be too insensitive to portray these sort of things in characters. It'd require a lot of work and careful planning to roleplay these types of complications in an acceptable and accurate manner... And I feel not many would/could do them justice and in turn end up being offensive.
Mental health disorders are not on this list, do not try to use any of them as a replacement. Instead these should be up to the roleplayers decision so they can do proper research to accurately portray these in their characters in a respectable manner.

Prayers
These chance outcomes are mandatory and must be rolled for.
Praying to the Celestials is a common occurrence among the tribes. When seeking blessings or reprieve they will approach one of their tribe's shrines and pray. It is the only way for those non-spiritually-connected to the Celestials to interact with the benevolent, ethereal beings. Praying may have both positive or negative outcomes. Some prayers may also not be strong enough to reach the stars of the Celestials.
Responding to prayers is one of the major ways players with Celestial characters are able to use them. Each response will vary and be custom fit to the roleplay in question.

- You will post with your character(s) at an altar/shrine and have them say a prayer. This can be for any sort of blessing or aide.
- You'll then go to the "roles-and-outcomes" channel in our Discord and roll a dice with five sides.
- The number you roll will correspond with one of the various outcomes listed in the same channel.
- Afterwards you'll fill out the request form in the same channel and ping the "Celestial Slot" role. Someone will then respond to your roleplay where the prayer took place (if on Discord) according to your rolled outcome. If the roleplay was not done on the Discord the response will come on the Discord in one of the 'Special' channels where you will be pinged. If the roleplay for the prayer did not take place on Discord, you must provide a screenshot of the prayer in the channel.
You will roll a 5 sided dice in the 'Rolls-and-outcomes; channel.
Roll a 1 - The prayer was unsuccessful. Whatever you prayed for will have a negative impact instead and the opposite shall occur. If praying for something that requires a roll from the 'Fate System" -1 from the roll outcomes.
Roll a 2 or 3 - The prayer did not reach the Celestials. Nothing happens, not positive or negative.
Roll a 4 - The prayer was a success, but only minorly. Will not add any multipliers to rolled outcomes for 'Fate System'. It will however offer some positive benefit of some kind.
Roll a 5 - The prayer was successful, the Celestials heard and blessed the one praying. +1 will be added to roll outcomes for 'Fate System' rolls.

Combat
These outcomes are optional and may be rolled for at the user(s) decision.
The universe of Pandemonium Plague is brutal. Fighting happens all the time for any reason. Whether that be for dominance, training or survival. As common as combat is in this roleplay we want to give players the option of allowing outcomes up to 'fate'. This is optional, but available for those that wish to have some more diversity or if you can't decide who should come out victorious.
You will roll a 5 sided dice in the 'Rolls-and-outcomes; channel. You will need to assign characters to participant slots before rolling.
Roll a 1 - Participant A wins the fight, Participant B suffers the most wounds.
Roll a 2 - Participant B wins the fight, Participant A suffers the most wounds.
Roll a 3 - Participant A wins the fight, but suffers some serious wounds needing mending.

Hunting
These outcomes are optional and may be rolled for at the user(s) decision.
Hunting is a way of life for many in the plague lands. It is an important aspect that you may leave up to chance. The term hunting is used as a broad term here, for both 'normal' hunting of prey animals and in the cases of hunting others from opposing tribes.
You will roll a 5 sided dice in the 'Rolls-and-outcomes; channel.
If the hunting party consists of three or more participants add +1 to the roll outcome.
Roll a 1 - The hunt failed, but no targeted prey was able to be tracked successfully or the tracks were lost.
Roll a 2 - The hunt failed, the target prey managed to struggle free and flee from the offensive party.
Roll a 3 - The hunt is a failure, the target prey managed to wound the offensive party and escape, but with serious wounds theirself.
Roll a 4 - The hunt is a success, but was a struggle. The target prey is successfully killed or captured. Some of those on the offense during the hunt are injured minorly.
Roll a 5 - The hunt is a success, the target prey is successfully killed or captured and brought back with minimum damage to the offensive party.
In-depth Combat
These outcomes are optional and may be rolled for at the user(s) decision.
If one desires involving the Fate System more in-depth into their combat than seek no further. The system and rolls detailed below are for those seeking more variety in their combat. This method is often used for combat involved in challenges for ranks when neither participants can agree on an outcome. As such many of the rules for this method pertain to rank challenges, but may be ignored for those only looking to spice up normal combat scenarios.
Participants will take turns rolling dice for each post that they are offensive with an attack. The outcomes of the dice will be used to determine the following post and appropriate reactions. In this type of combat it is customary to avoid pre-planned reactions/counters/attacks in your posts. Keep things straightforward.

Those challenging for ranks must..
- They must be active within the roleplay for no less than six months. This pertains to both OOC and character specific activity. As ranks are being challenged for you must prove your activity that is required for all higher ranks within the tribes.
- The character must be above the age of three years at minimum. Exceptions apply in the situations of younger Heirs/Scion counter/defending challenges for the Sire/Dame. In these situations the character should be around the age of two years. When countering/defending challenge victories, the original opponent should still have all wounds sustained from the prior battle.

Roll a 2 - The attack is partially successful. It lands, but not fully as intended. It is up to the target to determine the effects and outcome.
Roll a 3 - The attack is unsuccessful and the target is able to fully counter. The opponents counter attack lands fully, but can not be a fatal blow.
Roll a 4 - The attack is unsuccessful and the target is able to fully dodge. The opponent shall determine how the dodge plays out.

Exceptions..
In the situation one is very unlucky/lucky there is a way to turn the tides of favor. If by chance a character is able to be attacked successfully for three turns in a row they may: successfully dodge the next attack no matter the roll outcome and -1 roll point to their next attack dice roll result..
