What is a Celestial?
The Celestials are the name given to the deceased ancestors of the tribes. How the name came to be is uncertain, but most assume it has to do with the ethereal visions granted to those spiritually connected. It's said these ancestors help guide the tribes even in the afterlife, always watching over and offering aide. When a individual passes on they are said to join the stars and become a Celestial.
They are believed to live in a place deemed the Celestial meadow. No one living is quite sure what the Celestial Meadow is entirely like. It's said the ethereal plains are always basked in the hues of a sunset. From the tales that have been told about visions and spiritual audiences with Celestials, their lands are made up of fragmented pieces of memories and lands, melded together into one blissful place. Celestials there never go hungry, cold or get ill. They are believed to be reverted back to their most healthiest forms that one prefers.
Every individual who falls is believed to become a Celestial, no matter their status. Whether they are infected or pure all are welcomed to the Celestial Meadow upon death. The lands are said to be divided, however by tribes and plague-status. This has nothing to do with the actual plague. Celestials are above the effects of the mortal realm and the Pandemonium Plague. This divide has to do more with the differences between the two tribes and their ways of life.

Prayers
The tribes find great importance in keeping connected with their ancestors. They owe their Celestials for much and look to them for guidance. While not all individuals may hold strong beliefs; the majority of them in fact do. They gain wisdom in prophecies and omens through them. To the tribes the Celestials hold a great deal of importance. Aside from having them involved in many traditions, individuals may also pray to them.
While only a few within the tribes are said to have natural connections, anyone is capable of praying to their ancestors and hope for their blessings. They may pray for anything; a healthy pregnancy, cure for illness, good hunting, relief from certain weather, and everything in between. It is up to the Celestials, however to decide how they will answer these prayers, however. Praying will often be done at a tribe's shrine/altar, but can be done anywhere. It's customary to supply offerings and burn incense when praying. |
Shrines, Altars and Offerings
Each tribe has at least one shrine or altar in their camp dedicated to the Celestials. These shrines are constructed by stones and other materials. There is no right or wrong way to make a shrine. There is no set standard. As long as the intention behind the shrine is true to the Celestials anything is fine. The Celestials are not picky about such things. Most of the shrines have been standing for countless cycles and seasons. They are tended to dutifully throughout the generations. It is forbidden to touch another tribe's shrine or damage it in any way. Doing so is disrespectful and viewed as an attack against the Celestials.
The shrines are used to pay respects to ancestors, the Celestials. Individuals will often pray here as well and seek blessings. It's not uncommon for offerings to be left to the Celestials here, such as prey, herbs, flowers and other trinkets. A tribe's spiritual connectors and healers are the main ones to tend to the shrines/altars and keep it tidy. When needed they will come and gather the collected offerings as at times it can get cluttered. These offerings are sent off in similar ways for both tribes. The gathered offerings will be burned in a sacred fire. |

Known Celestial Meadow Locations
Below are the currently known locations that exist within the Celestial Meadows. This knowledge is limited, but apparent from what mortals have seen in dreams and visions. The Celestial Meadow is made up of memories of locations, so not all are fully tangible and passages into these locations is not realistic.
Red Forest
A patch of woodlands that stretches across the entire Celestial Meadows. It divides the meadow in half between the Caedis and Fidelis tribes. The forest is in a perpetual state of Autumn with the leaves of the trees hues of reds, orange, and brown. There's a light mist on the ground here that is believed to make passage through the Red Forest impossible to those with nefarious intentions. Though it acts as a divide it is possible for both Fidelis and Caedis Celestials to cross it if their intentions are pure.
Center Cavern
The cave system is only partial and seems to not be fully present as the branching off tunnels lead into nothingness. It's a circular cavern that almost mirrors the current main area of the Fidelis Tribe's camp. Instead the underground pond is deeper. In the center land jutting from the middle of the pond is a lone tree that reaches up to a hole in the ceiling.
Ruined Giant
This area resembles the chasm where the Caedis Tribe camp is. It's only a portion of land with a black abyss in any direction if one walks too far. There's a la partial skeleton of an elephant. The bones are bleached white by the sun and are cracked in some locations. Oddly enough the large skull is fully intact. In the center of it's ribcage is a crackling fire that seems to never be extinguished.

How it Works OOC
All of the text below this point is strictly OOC knowledge of how these things work within the roleplay to help with confusion.
Praying
There is more in-depth information on prayers and how they work on our Fate System page.
- You will post with your character(s) at an altar/shrine and have them say a prayer. This can be for any sort of blessing or aide.
- You'll then go to the "roles-and-outcomes" channel in our Discord and roll a dice with five sides.
- The number you roll will correspond with one of the various outcomes listed in the same channel.
- Afterwards you'll fill out the request form in the same channel and ping the "Celestial Slot" role. Someone will then respond to your roleplay where the prayer took place according to your rolled outcome.
Celestial Characters
Upon buying the 'Celestial Slot' in our reward shop you'll be able to play as one Celestial character. This character is separate and does not count to your total character's amount. Playing a Celestial comes with restrictions and guides. Celestials are only able to be roleplayed in certain situations. These situations will usually have the role pinged so those playing Celestials will know. Other than that they may not be used. People with the 'Celestial Slot' role will also have access to a few channels on the Discord where most information can be found. It's encouraged to read these channels to have a full understanding.
A few things of note....
A few things of note....
- When responding to someone's prayer, visions, etc... only one Celestial character may reply. So be watchful as it's first come first served.
- A Celestial character must be a character of yours that actively died IC within the roleplay
- Members are restricted to one Celestial character. Staff may have multiple, most used as NPCs to help keep the story and plots moving.
